The District Council of Ceduna are consulting with locals over a proposed jetty levy.
The council currently lease the jetties in Ceduna, Smoky Bay and Denial Bay from the State Government, with recent assessments signaling their deteriorating condition.
An independent condition assessment report estimates $17.9 million of investment into the three jetties would be required to meet the Government’s standards.
Council says its important ratepayers are given an opportunity to indicate if they would pay a levy in their general rates to provide ongoing jetty maintenance.
A link to an online survey has been sent to residents, and they will have until August 3rd to respond.
