Trial restrictions on the sale of cask wine in Whyalla will continue over the summer.
The extension comes following a recent meeting of the Whyalla Liquor Accord, limiting the sale of four and five litre casks, including all port and fortified wines.
The Whyalla Council said that while early indications have been positive, more data is needed to see if there is a consistent decrease in alcohol-related incidents in the region.
Meanwhile, police have reported a noticeable drop in disturbances and expiations since the restrictions began.
Liquor Commissioner Brett Humphrey said extending the trial until the end of April will allow a full year of data to guide future decisions.
