A brand new Mazda SUV caught fire on the Lincoln Highway on Friday afternoon.
It is understood the car started smoking before bursting into flames about 25km south of Whyalla.
The fire caused a traffic hazard, with fire crews working for half an hour to extinguish the blaze.

Thankfully there were no injuries, although the new SUV was destroyed.
