dminor.jpg

You may recognize this guy from last year's Australia's Got Talent, Dminor.

Dee caught up with him and had a chat about his journey growing up, his struggles being homeless as a youngin and his music career.

Check out the full interview here!

Also, check out some of Dminor's music! Concrete Pillow was one that stole my heart! But His HomeRun track is a ripper too. Check out the film clips.

(I've also added the lyrics to, just in case you're like me and love to really understand a rap and get to know the lyrics behind great songs)

So build me up
And take me home
I'll leave behind this concrete pillow
Yeah I know it's hard to see the future and imagine it's bright
I have dimmed my lights down I keep crashing at night
With every foster home I'm roster in I'm highly distorted
And the pain ain't going nowhere I don't try to avoid it
Adapted to nightmares so it is hard to stay focus
But homie I've been homeless I struggle to know what hope is
Told my bro hold tight a cold night and I hate it
Sleep through the horrors dawg not to know if I make up
Used to scrunch up newspaper stuck it under my jacket
Underneath the layers homie I was broken and damaged
Often wondered what happened if I am loving and happily
I ain't used to it dawg I am destruction and havoc
Sometimes it's too much to bare can you carry my load
I know the streets snatch you up so we rarely die old
I used to sleep next to bakeries to gain some warm
It's kind crazy how you save me in the heart of the storm
So build me up
And take me home
I'll leave behind this concrete pillow
So build me up
And take me home
I'll leave behind this concrete pillow
My decisions are haunting me I am staring at fate
And you ain't missing much then watching me deteriorate
Like an undeveloped form which was born for life
Instead tortured in darkness and torn from light
And my burden is so heavy that my neck is weak
Use concrete as a pillow yes I slept on streets
And I don't understand why its rest in peace
Even tho it ain't an option for most that left deceased
I can greet you with a smile while I'm calling your name
Underneath my grin homie there is torture and pain
And the burden I'm carrying is now a ball and chain
I often run in sunshine then I walk in rain
It's the tune that sooths me it pours like medicine
My music can tell my story more than I ever can
I ain't tryna get sympathy or blow up my chest
It's the only way homie I release all my stress
So build me up
And take me home
I'll leave behind this concrete pillow
So build me up
And take me home
I'll leave behind this concrete pillow
It's a concrete pillow
It's a concrete pillow
Lost and lonely and I'm just a shadow
Concrete pillow
It's a concrete pillow
Lost and lonely and I'm just a shadow
So build me up
And take me home
I'll leave behind this concrete pillow
So build me up
And take me home
I'll leave behind this concrete pillow

I'mma rise up I'mma take it all
I'mma hold my head high never low
And when they think I've had enough
I'mma keep on coming
And when the world knocks me off my feet
I won't give up I won't ever sleep
And when they think I've had enough
I'mma keep on coming
This homerun is so real to me
Choked up the will to breath
Made the team, don't take loss
Stay strong don't feel defeat
I have the drive the will to be
Anything that I want I will succeed
I feel alive I feel the beat
I'mma wildebeest in a field of dreams
Anything that I want I'mma do
Anything I'mma get it I'mma prove
It's a homerun when I swing the bat
I run hard never looking back
And we stand up ignite the sun
Hindsight coz I might have won
Dark days when we part ways
Lets stand firm and unite as one
Stay alive keep breathing
You can't leave for no reason
My heart knows that I need this
And my scars show when I'm bleeding
But I cover up and I pull through
Coz if I can then you to
Reach a homerun when you broken
I'm grown up I'm in motion
And I'm running through the city when its night
And I'm feeling so alive that I might
Get it any minute I'mma live it I'mma love it
Then I got it and I'm never giving up this fight
So know that its humanity
A teenage dream to reality
All people we all equal so let's recharge this battery
I'mma rise up I'mma take it all
I'mma hold my head high never low
And when they think I've had enough
I'mma keep on coming
And when the world knocks me off my feet
I won't give up I won't ever sleep
And when they think I've had enough
I'mma keep on coming
I stand alone when I face fears
Not a day I don't taste tears
They laughed at my bad past
But I stand up had a great year
Slow down I don't go there
Move around where there's no air
Where I suffocate I can't breathe
I resuscitate I can't leave
This planet yo that I walk on
I'm war torn but I feel tho if I stay strong
Stay brave that's there's nowhere that I can't go
And I feel like that must strike while the irons hot I'll be fine
It's real life, it's game night, it's crunch time so I must fight
And let's rebuild what they crush down
Grab the flag and just run now
Drop the mic the crowd cheers
Trumpet plays the sound is
So loud that my ear drums just vibrate they go hard
Don't doubt this coz without wings I still fly so hold on
To whatever dream that you got
And I'm never giving up my spot
What you fight for is what you earn
Don't stop and no U-turn
From a big dream to a major league
I'm here to stay never came to leave
I stand tall with my head high
Stand in pride for a greater need
I'mma rise up I'mma take it all
I'mma hold my head high never low
And when they think I've had enough
I'mma keep on coming
And when the world knocks me off my feet
I won't give up I won't ever sleep
And when they think I've had enough
I'mma keep on coming
Homerun
Keep on coming for the
Homerun
Keep on coming for the
Homerun
Keep on running on
I'll keep on coming
