Justifying Why the Justice Project is Worth Watching

Here’s one that might be worth checking out despite it starring one of the world’s most famous (and materialistic) reality TV stars who you may love or hate, Mrs. Kim Kardashian West.

I wouldn’t have ever given this show a second thought purely for the fact it has anything to do with the Kardashians, no thank you but HayU had other plans for me last night and automatically started playing the series once I’d finished watching my guilty pleasure trash TV show, which I’ll happily skip over since I’m not overly proud of it, hence its a guilty pleasure.

Anyway, putting aside who is in this series let’s focus on what it’s about.

Do you remember Alice Marie Johnson? She was the woman who Kim Kardashian rescued from prison by really looking into her unfair case and took it to President Donald Trump himself.

Ms. Johnson was sentenced a life sentence plus 25 years for being a drug mule. She was a first time offender, never touched drugs and had very little to do with the operation. All she did was provide a landline phone to connect dealers to suppliers. That was it. She had previously lost her 12-year-old son in an accident and she was claiming bankruptcy. So life had given her a pretty unfair deal when she landed in prison for innocently just trying to get by when an opportunity arose. She spent more than 20 years in prison for this.

Thanks to Kim, she was released. This then sparked Kim’s interest in digging deeper into the US justice system which is clogged up with people who have been unfairly sentenced, are no longer a threat to society or have been rehabilitated. After Johnston’s case, Kim began to receive hundreds of letters of people telling their story. She highlights that the courts have failed to look at each case individually and understand their circumstances as to why they may have made the decisions they did.

Now she’s out to change the world. Apparently anyway. Although her face doesn’t move a lot and its likely there’s an alternative motive to self-promote…she is actually helping people, changing lives and making a difference and that’s what’s important.

While it’s on public display, just like the rest of her life, she‘s giving people a second shot at life when the justice system failed them, locked them up and left them to rot until they die. It truly is a sad reality of the world we live in.

Mrs. Kardashian West is also actually studying to be a lawyer and hoping to pass the bar in 2022. Perhaps following in the footsteps of her late father Robert who was OJ Simpson’s defence attorney.

So, if you can get past the fact that it’s a Kimmy K series, you might actually enjoy it and find it interesting. I’ll warn you though, it’s a bit of tear jerker. The stories and cases she opens up is truly heartbreaking. People aren’t given a fair go or given a second thought. So much life and potential is locked up to and gets lost in the system. The Justice Project with Kim Kardashian West, a TV series that surprisingly looks deeper then Kim’s next bitchy fight with her sisters.
