Movember on the EP

More than two thousand dollars has been raised for Movember on the Eyre Peninsula, it's a solid effort by guys like Brody Burrows, Andy Wilsdon, Mark Butterworth and Harrison Wright.

Did you ever hear the story of Andy's Mo?

Like a dormant volcano that is ready to erupt, Andy's Mo currently lies in hibernation. I'm bringing it back. But it's going to cost us $1600, but all to charity Movember Australia.

They do incredible work for men's health. They're the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. Addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

"It's something I'm very passionate about, my grandfather was a survivor of prostate cancer. So that was my big motivation for it".

Andy has previously raised over four thousand dollars for Movember Australia, having had a family member suffer with cancer. Now a married man though Andy hasn't got the time nor the permission to grow a Mo this year... UNTIL NOW. Us at Magic 899 are stepping up and making a difference. It's BRING BACK ANDY's MO. There's special cuddles on the line. I spoke to both Andy and his wife Kelly during the week and the target has been set, raising money for Men's Health.

You can join the movement to Bring Back Andy's Mo by donating online.

There's plenty of men sporting moustaches for MOVEMBER across the EP. Lock resident Brody Burrows also getting involved and hoping to reach his target of $1000, you can donate here. Brody is well known in the sporting community across the EP and having won the Kemp Real Estate's Dream Job competition, he isn't a stranger to being heard on air with Magic 899.

Another Lock resident is taking up the moustache challenge, Harrison Wright, only 18 and still a student at Saint Josephs School. So far he's raised $180 of his targetted $500, you can contribute to his campaign here.

"Mum isn't a big fan of the moustache"

We got Harrison on the phone to let us know how hairy things are getting for his upper lip for Mens Health.

Mark Butterworth shaved off his ginger beard on December 1, heralding the end of Movember. Mark has raised $1020 having gone clean shaven at the Beer Garden Brewery's second birthday party! You can donate further to his cause here.
