This week has seen the Port Adelaide Football Club discover the Lower Eyre Peninsula and  commence with the club’s annual community camp. I met with third year player Dan Houston in the studios of Magic 899 and he goes on to mention how the famous club endeavours to be incredibly active in regional ares.

Officials, coaches and approximately twenty squad listed players including Steven Motlop, Chad Wingard and Jack Trengove have arrived in town, as well as former Mallee Park Football Club player Lindsay Thomas and Eastern Eyre Peninsula’s Sam Gray.

Drafted in late 2015 Dan Houston came in studio and discussed what it's like to be part of the camp and the AFL season ahead.

"Eleven players turned over last year so it's good to see some new players with experience coming into the team, but also sad to see some close mates go in terms of Trengove and Impy and those sorts of players".

Various schools located in at Poonindie, Port Neil, Cummins, Ungarra and Wangary played host to the Port Power players who later provided an Auskick Super Clinic.

The club's annual community camp continues with school visits today and player Dan Houston making his way out toward Kirton Point.
