Simmo arrived at Magic 899 in May 2017 and was immediately thrown in at the deep end hosting the Morning Mashup breakfast radio shift from six am! He's been the front-man of all of our event coverage ever since, often seen cruising the streets in the Magic-Car with our girl Jo Page.
He's also hosted almost 100 interview sessions from Timomatic, Harts, South Aussie with Cosi and even Kevin Bloody Wilson. Simmo is a massive part of our coverage of local events such as Tunarama Festival, Teakle Autosprint and SALT Festival as well as master of ceremonies for the Mental Health Week Gala Ball.
He's even had his brush with history having hosted the arrival of the Queen’s Baton for the Commonwealth Games. Granted he hasn’t met the Queen but he can claim to have asked South Australian premier Steven Marshall about red budgie smugglers, (#liberal) in front of thousands of people and then ask weightlifting Gold Medallist Dean Lukin to spot him in the gym as well!
We often send Simmo out as the roving reporter for whatever is happening on the foreshore, harassing the likes of our local mayor. He's flirted with Tunarama Ambassadors and is sometimes found around town doing interviews with the quirks of the Eyre Peninsula.

Simmo is a dedicated Lincoln South’s footy fan and can be spotted at a home game or two, but can’t kick a football straight. It's not just Magic 899 listeners that have the pleasure of Simmo's dulcet tones, you may well recognise his voice from the opening credits shown at Youthoria and Wallis Cinemas.
While studying English Literature at the University of Adelaide, Simmo spent years working as a bartender and admits to not doing much work, instead he could be found chatting up a storm with locals which he says seems to have prepared him for the radio industry!
