Just when we thought Barbie 2 had been packed away in the Dreamhouse, Hollywood has given us a very big reason to get excited.
It turns out a sequel to the billion-dollar Barbie movie might actually be happening.
Barbie 2 Is Back On The Table
After months of stalled negotiations involving Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Greta Gerwig and co-writer Noah Baumbach, things suddenly look a LOT more promising.

The big change? The new Skydance-led company taking over Warner Bros. reportedly wants to get Barbie 2 moving again, with incoming film bosses already reaching out to Robbie and her production company, LuckyChap.
According to a source quoted by Variety, “There’s no way ‘Barbie 2’ doesn’t happen.” That’s quite the turnaround.
So What Would Barbie 2 Be About?
Even better, Gerwig and Baumbach are believed to already have an idea for the next story.
They haven’t started writing it yet, though, with reports suggesting they want the business side sorted before putting pen to paper.
And honestly, after the first movie somehow turned Barbie, Ken, patriarchy, existential dread and rollerblades into a billion-dollar blockbuster, we’re very curious about what they have planned.
We’re Going Back To Barbieland
The original Barbie made more than $1.4 billion worldwide, so it’s hardly surprising Hollywood wants another crack at it.
Now we just need Margot Robbie back, Ryan Gosling back… obviously.
