Jim Carrey reportedly married his longtime girlfriend, Min Ah, in a private ceremony in Los Angeles, closing a chapter that stayed almost entirely out of public view until earlier this year. The iconic star known for his exaggerated comedy performances , 64, wed the LA-based actress and artist, 32, in a small gathering, according to multiple US outlets.

The pair had been photographed together as far back as 2022, yet they didn’t step onto a red carpet as a couple until February 2026. At the César Awards in Paris, Carrey accepted an Honorary César and used part of his speech, delivered in French, to thank Min Ah, also known as Minzi, calling her his “sublime companion” and telling her he loved her. His daughter Jane and grandson Jackson sat with them that night, marking one of the few times the relationship was on camera.

This is Carrey’s third marriage. He first wed Melissa Womer, an aspiring actress and former waitress at The Comedy Store, in March 1987. Their daughter, Jane, was born that same year. The couple later divorced, with the split finalised in the mid-1990s after Carrey’s film career had taken off with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. In September 1996, he married his Dumb and Dumber co-star Lauren Holly. That union lasted less than a year before Holly filed for divorce. In the decades since, Carrey has largely kept his personal life quiet, which made the sudden public acknowledgment of Min Ah in Paris stand out.

The same awards appearance that introduced Min Ah also triggered a strange round of speculation about whether the man on stage was Carrey at all. His changed look prompted theories online that a makeup artist had attended in his place using a prosthetic mask, while others claimed a body double or even a clone had accepted the award. A celebrity makeup artist later posted images that appeared to suggest he had impersonated Carrey in Paris, complete with references to a mask and teeth. Carrey’s longtime publicist responded directly, stating that Jim Carrey attended the César Awards and accepted the Honorary César himself. Organisers also dismissed the claims as a non-issue and confirmed he was present with family members and members of his inner circle.

The rumours gained extra traction because Carrey has spoken in older interviews about sending decoys out to draw paparazzi in another direction so he could move around unnoticed.

With news of the Los Angeles ceremony now circulating, the hope is that the man who just married Min Ah is the genuine Jim Carrey!, the same person who stood at the podium in Paris, thanked his companion by name, and has now chosen to say I do away from the cameras. Representatives were contacted after the initial reports, and confirmations from his side have indicated the wedding did take place.
