One of our region’s most exclusive tourism operations has hit pause.

Rumi on Louth has temporarily wrapped up standard guest bookings and restaurant operations.

Owners Che and Natasha Metcalfe said stage one of the island retreat had concluded, and they were now working on the next phase.

It’s understood stage two of the project includes the additions of private pavilions and new guest experiences.

The transition has been labelled as an evolution rather than the closure of the hot spot.

The retreat has won a suite of accolades in the past, including a certification for Advanced Eco Tourism.
