A man’s been hit with drink driving charges after he crashed his car into a parked car in Port Lincoln.
Police were called to the scene on Monday night after a Mitsubishi ute crashed into a car parked in the front yard of a home on Cardiff Road.
The impact of the crash pushed the parked car into a second parked vehicle, with all three cars sustaining significant damage.
The driver initially left the scene, however he returned and identified himself once patrols arrived.
It’s alleged he returned a positive breath test reading of 0.150, three times the legal limit.
Following further investigations, it was alleged the man was using a mobile phone prior to the crash.
The 30-year-old local man was reported for aggravated driving without due care, drink driving and using a mobile phone whilst driving. He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence, and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He will front court at a later date.
