The deadline is fast approaching for South Australians who secured a Coast Is Calling dining cashback voucher for January, with vouchers needing to be redeemed by Saturday, January 31.
The scheme has delivered a welcome boost to local hospitality businesses, including many across the Yorke Peninsula, following the economic impacts of the recent toxic algal bloom.
In the first two months of the program, close to $11 million has been spent at participating venues, with around 100,000 claims approved so far. Of that, $4 million has already been paid back to customers through the cashback scheme.
The initiative was introduced to help offset reduced visitation and trade caused by the algal bloom, encouraging locals and visitors to support coastal communities.
Another round of Coast Is Calling dining vouchers will open on Sunday, offering further opportunities for residents to take part in the program.
