A man has escaped injury after his boat caught fire and sank west of Thistle Island yesterday afternoon.
The 50-year-old Port Lincoln man jumped overboard wearing a life jacket before being rescued by a passing vessel who spotted smoke in the area.
He was taken back to Port Lincoln and assessed by paramedics but wasn’t seriously injured.

Police are reminding boaties to check their vessels and safety gear ahead of summer.
