Port Lincoln Little Athletics is one of 72 grassroots clubs nationwide awarded a grant from the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund.
They’ll receive over $4,600 to purchase new gear, including Line marking paint, shot puts, discuses, high jump stands, long jump mats, starting blocks, measuring equipment and a starting pistol – all aimed at improving the experience for young athletes and volunteers.
The funding is part of a $250,000 boost from Coles, as Little Athletics records a 16 percent surge in participation across the country, with the biggest jump in the Tiny Tots program for kids aged 3 to 5.
Over the past five years, Little Athletics has grown by more than 40 percent, now reaching over 96,000 children.
The next round of funding will open in 2026.
