It’s yet another coup for Kimba.
The Council has recently been named a finalist in the 2025 IPWEA SA Excellence Awards.
They were recognised for their project ‘Rising Strong: Kimba’s Three-Year Journey from Storm to Strength’, which has been shortlisted for the Best Public Works Project over 5-million-dollars category.

The recognition honours the community’s resilience and tireless work in rebuilding after the devastating 2022 storm event.
CEO Deb Larwood said the achievement is a credit to the tireless work and dedication of the Council’s Works Department staff and community.
Winners will be announced at the IPWEA Gala Night in November.
