The Lower Eyre Council has released its draft Community Land Management Plan (CLMP) and is calling on locals to have their say.
The plan outlines how council-owned and Crown-managed land is currently being used, as well as future options for sites across the district.
Six properties in Coffin Bay, Cummins and Louth Bay have been identified as having no clear purpose for Council. These may be considered for sale or returned to the State in the future.
The sites include:
A910 – 19-27 Flinders Avenue, Coffin Bay – Owned by Crown
A1061 – 13 Pine Crescent, Coffin Bay – Owned by Council
A1070 – 27 Pine Crescent, Coffin Bay – Owned by Council
A1686 – Cnr Warrow Road & Laube Sreet, Cummins – Owned by Council
A2423 – Strawberry Hill Road, Cummins – Owned by Council
A2831 – 11 Central Street, Louth Bay – Owned by Crown
Other parcels of “operational land” have also been reviewed, including the old fuel depot site in Cummins and the town’s saleyards, which may also be considered for disposal down the track.
Council says no final decisions have been made and that any sale or revoking of community land status would involve further reports, approvals, and extensive public consultation.
Residents can view the draft plan and share their feedback until 5pm, Friday 29 August 2025. Submissions can be made by email or post to the Council.
