Bendigo Bank has confirmed it will close three of its Eyre Peninsula agencies later this year, as part of a broader move to retire its national agency model.
The Cleve, Tumby Bay and Wudinna agencies will shut their doors in October.
The closures come after a recent review found decreasing use of agency services, rising operational costs, and increasing compliance requirements.
The agency model allowed Bendigo Bank to offer limited services through third-party operators in areas that couldn’t support a full branch.
In a statement, Bendigo Bank’s Chief Customer Officer Consumer, Taso Corolis said the bank remains committed to regional banking and will continue to operate its full-service branches in Port Lincoln and Cummins, which remain unaffected.
The bank said it will support customers during the transition, including helping them access nearby services, Bank@Post options and e-banking tools.
Customers can also continue to use Bendigo Bank’s mobile app, internet banking, phone banking, or visit any of the 3, 500 Australia Post outlets nationwide that offer banking services.
